MAGNETIC FLUX LEAKAGE TESTING

For this technique, a strong magnet is used to generate a static field, completely saturating the tube wall. Should a flaw of any type (crack, pit, wall loss, etc) be present in the path of the field, it will cause a disturbance in the path of the field lines, causing some amount of field to leak out of the tube wall.
